CEC helps Zambia’s largest photovoltaic power plant financing to fall into place

On May 14, local time, Zambia’s largest photovoltaic power plant project – Kebwezi Samba 100 MW photovoltaic power plant

project achieved financing closure, and the signing ceremony was held in Lusaka, the capital of Zambia. The project is developed

by Zambia KNBEPC and CEC is responsible for the project implementation. During the financing process of the project, CECC

gave full play to its technical advantages, fully communicated with all relevant parties of the project, and contributed to the

smooth closing of the financing.

At the signing ceremony, Boyd Cancela, CEO of KNBEPC, emphasized the great role of the project in easing Zambia’s power supply,

and fully affirmed CECC’s technical capability and engineering implementation capacity. He said the achievement of financing closure

is a proud milestone that highlights the ability of the Zambian public sector to mobilize commercial capital. The representative of

the power purchaser, Wezzy Gondwe, said that the project demonstrates the results created by a sound business model and quality

partners, and thanked the CEC team for their efforts.

The Kebwe Zisamba PV power plant project is located near the city of Kebwe in Zambia’s Central Province, with an installed capacity

of 100 MW, including PV area, booster station, transmission substation and transmission lines. The completion of the project will

effectively alleviate the tension of Zambia’s power supply, further increase the diversity of energy sources in Zambia and enhance

the level of power supply.
