On June 25, local time, CECC and Egyptian National Grid officially signed the EPC contract for the East Ismailia to Zagazig
500 kV Transmission Line Section II and Section III projects. Li Dezhi, Deputy General Manager of CECC MENA Regional
Headquarters, and Mona Rizk, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the State Grid Corporation of Egypt, attended the
signing ceremony on behalf of both parties.
The starting point of Egypt East Ismailia to Zagazig 500 kV transmission line is located in Karjat Elzanayn, Suez Governorate,
and the end point is located in Zagazig 500 kV substation project in Egypt’s Eastern Governorate, with a total length of about
130 kilometers across the desert and farmland areas. Upon completion, the project will make a significant contribution to
Egypt’s optimization of power grid layout and promotion of economic and social development.
This project is CECC’s first EPC project in the field of ultra-high voltage transmission lines in the Egyptian market, and it is
also the result of the company’s continuous efforts to actively participate in the power transmission and transformation
business in Egypt since 2016, which will lay a solid foundation for the company’s diversified development and continued
development of new business areas in Egypt.
