Why is electricity key to promoting energy transition?

Electric energy is a clean, efficient and convenient secondary energy. Electricity is a key area of clean and low-carbon transformation of energy.

Power generation is the main way to develop and utilize new energy resources. To replace final fossil energy consumption, electricity is the main

choice. To promote energy technology innovation and industrial cultivation, electricity is an advantageous field. With the acceleration of the

“dual carbon” process and the deepening of energy transformation, the traditional power system is evolving into a new power system that is

clean and low-carbon, safe and controllable, flexible and efficient, open, interactive, intelligent and friendly. Its technical basis, operating

mechanism and functional form Profound changes will take place, and the power system will also face unprecedented pressure for reform

and upgrading.

The Zhundong-Wannan ±1100 kV UHV DC transmission project is an UHV project with the highest voltage level, the largest transmission

capacity and the longest transmission distance in the world independently developed by my country. The project can reduce coal consumption

in East China by about 38 million tons per year, and become the “Power Silk Road” connecting the western frontier and East China.

From the supply side, it is reflected that clean energy power generation has gradually become the main body

of installed capacity and electricity

The key to promoting clean and low-carbon transformation of energy is to accelerate the development of non-fossil energy, especially

new energy such as wind power and solar power generation. About 95% of non-fossil energy in my country is mainly used by converting

it into electricity. It is estimated that in 2030, the installed capacity of new energy power generation such as wind power and solar

power generation in my country will surpass that of coal power and become the largest power source.

From the perspective of consumption, it is reflected in the high electrification of terminal energy consumption

and the emergence of a large number of power “prosumers”

It is expected that the electrification level of my country’s terminal energy consumption will increase to about 39% and 70% in 2030

and 2060. With the rapid development of diversified electricity loads and energy storage, many power users are both consumers and

producers of electricity, and the relationship between electricity production and sales has changed profoundly.

From the perspective of the power grid, it is reflected that the development of the power grid will form a

pattern dominated by large power grids and the coexistence of various power grid forms.

The AC-DC hybrid grid is still the dominant force in the optimal allocation of energy resources. At the same time, microgrids,

distributed energy, energy storage and local DC grids will develop rapidly, interoperate and coordinate with the grid, and support

various new energy sources. Development and utilization and friendly access to various loads.

From the perspective of the system as a whole, it is reflected that the operation mechanism and balance

mode will undergo profound changes

With the large-scale replacement of conventional power sources by new energy power generation and the wide application of

adjustable loads such as energy storage, the “double high” (high proportion of renewable energy, high proportion of power

electronic equipment) characteristics of the power system has become more prominent. The power system will gradually

change from the real-time balance of the source and the load to the non-complete real-time balance of the coordinated

interaction of the source network and the load and storage.
