China and ASEAN have strengthened their power connectivity, having established 16 cross-border interconnection transmission lines.
The two sides have conducted cross-border power trade and mutual assistance exceeding 75 billion kilowatt-hours.

According to the 7th East Asia Summit Clean Energy Forum held in Fuzhou, Fujian, China and ASEAN have enhanced their power
connectivity, with 16 cross-border interconnection transmission lines now operational.
According to the International Renewable Energy Agency, ASEAN’s cumulative renewable energy capacity has grown by more
than 1.5 times since 2019. Energy transition and green, low-carbon development have become shared priorities for both China
and ASEAN. China and ASEAN have completed 16 interconnection transmission lines at 110 kilovolts and above, facilitating
cross-border power trade exceeding 75 billion kilowatt-hours, with green electricity accounting for over 90% of the total.
Yi Yuechun, General Manager of the China Hydroelectric Engineering Consulting Corporation: Currently, China and ASEAN are
collaborating on over 190 power generation and grid projects, with a total investment exceeding US$92 billion. From 2021 to 2025,
China’s cross-border electricity trade with ASEAN has seen its share of China’s total electricity imports and exports rise annually,
establishing ASEAN as the primary market for China’s cross-border electricity trade.
The ASEAN Energy Cooperation Action Plan 2026-2030 proposes raising ASEAN’s renewable energy equipment share to 45% by 2030,
with an incremental capacity of 105 GW over the next five years. China has accumulated multiple advanced and mature technologies
in renewable energy, offering significant future cooperation potential with ASEAN. New cooperation hotspots are emerging in areas
such as energy storage and low-carbon grid development.
He Yang, Vice Minister of the National Energy Administration: China encourages Chinese enterprises to actively participate in clean
energy development in the ASEAN region, working with local partners to advance regional energy industry growth through concrete
actions. We will focus on key areas such as new energy development, energy storage technologies, and smart grids to promote the
sharing and application of scientific and technological innovations, thereby enhancing regional energy development standards and
modernizing governance systems.
