Installation of key equipment for the world’s largest Sino-foreign joint venture wet smelting project completed

Recently, SLNC project in Indonesia, which is the world’s largest Sino-foreign joint venture wet smelting project

constructed  by China National Chemical Corporation (CNCC), has ushered in an important milestone. The first

big piece of equipment of 3×1 million tons sulfur acid production project and the core equipment of wet smelting,

drying tower, were successfully installed.

This project is an important nickel resource development project of SLNC in Indonesia, which will further enhance

the level of green smelting of nickel resources and is of great strategic significance to improve the supply chain of

global new energy battery materials. The project adopts the integrated design of “Sulfur Acid Production -

Wet Smelting”, and its acid production unit provides stable and reliable raw material support for the wet smelting

system, which jointly supports the efficient and green commissioning of the project.

The autoclave installed this time is the fourth-generation autoclave, with a length of 44.19 meters, a width of 5.9

meters, and a single weight of 1,084.7 tons, which is the largest and most technically demanding customized

equipment in the project, and it undertakes the key task of efficient extraction of nickel metal. This high-precision

and accurate seating fully demonstrates ChemChina’s excellent strength in the field of international

high-end engineering.

In the future, the project team of Sinochem will practice the “135” development strategy, make every effort to

build high-quality benchmark projects overseas, continuously enhance the international influence of the brand

of Sinochem, and contribute China’s wisdom and strength to promote the development of the global new

energy industry.
